Craft Beer, Good Food and Weight Loss

This is a blog about craft beer and good food and how both of them fit into my weight loss plan.  I think the key to losing weight and keeping it off is not about eating healthy 100% of the time.  I think what is more important is to learn to eat healthy most of the time and indulge in the foods and drinks you enjoy in moderation...and that is my plan.  Of course, I plan on exercising at least 5-6 times a week for at least 30 minutes a day as well.

I will be doing Weight Watchers for the next three months.  So I have set up a page with Points Plus values for some craft beers that I have tried since WW does not offer Points Plus values for anything other than typical fizzy yellow stuff on their website, so I decided to create a running list here.  Once the three months are up, I plan on seeing how WW worked out for me and will make my decision to renew or to move onto something else..but the Points Plus values for craft beers page will stay.

So, here is a little bit about myself.  I am a Craft Beer lover, homebrew, sports fanatic and barbecuer.  I also like to read, play video games and watch TV and movies.  I guess you could say that I am a man's man.

  1. I just stumbled across your page and I must say THANK YOU. I have recently gained about 10 pounds, part of it is the "post-bride-booty" and came with all of the celebrating after my recent wedding. The other part I blame on my love of craft beer, and a new craft beer alehouse near my apartment. I have done WW before and I'm going to start again, so THANK YOU for the list you compiled, and good luck on your weight loss journey!

  4. Generally beer is flavoured by the addition of hops which adds a bitter taste to beer and also acts as a preservative. Apart from hops some herbs and fruits are also used for flavouring the beer. birra east side sleazy way barrel aged 37 5cl
